About

Born, raised, and educated in Bowling Green, OH, Steven is a midwesterner at heart. After a move to Chicago in 1996, Steven left twice; spending one year in Cleveland, and one and a half years in Washington, D.C., but Steven’s midwestern roots pulled him back.
Upon receiving a B.A. in Popular Culture from Bowling Green State University in 1992, Steven joined the VISTA program and did some traveling before finding his professional footing in Chicago. Steven’s membership experience took root at the Chicago Architecture Foundation, followed by roles at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home & Studio, and the Museum of Science & Industry. Prior to entering the association Universe in 2011, Steven spent six years working as a producer on the Judge Mathis Show and received an NAACP Image Award for his work. Association experience includes APICS, GAMA, International, and the Association for Women’s Health, Obstetrics, and Neonatal Nurses. He is currently serving as the Senior Manager of Member Programs and Communications with the American Academy of Periodontology.
In his free time, Steven enjoys keeping up with pop culture, reading (favorite author is John Irving), listening to podcasts, spending time with family and friends (cooking, laughing, talking current events), spending time by the water, and enjoying the company of his two cats, Luna Sparrow and Ignatius.
